Measures & controls free cyanide in your processes

When the cyanide concentration in a leach plant is controlled by manual colorimetric titration, it usually leads to significant fluctuations in the cyanide levels, resulting in metal losses at times of low cyanide levels, and in a waste of cyanide during high levels (overdosing) of cyanide.

Therefore, CyPlus® has developed a Cyanide Control System for the semi-continuous free cyanide analyses coupled with the automatic dosage of the cyanide solution. A unique low-maintenance filter unit guarantees a solid-free leach solution from the leach pulp without any plugging effects.
During the automated potentiometric titration there are no interferences with metal-complexed cyanides, which are not available for cyanidation. Samples can be taken from various points with different cyanide concentrations. The analytical data are sent to your process control system, which in turn regulates the dosage of cyanide solution according to your leach kinetics.
This efficient and highly accurate cyanide control reduces cyanide consumption by up to 25 %, thus paying off the investment for a CyPlus® CCS within a few months. In addition, metal recovery can be increased by preventing cyanide concentrations below the set point.


Furthermore, the efficient cyanide control is the key to optimizing your cyanide effluent treatment process, saving detoxification reagents and meeting the stringent discharge limits set by the International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC), the EU Mining Waste Directive and the World Bank.
